Seven years after her infamous leaked remark wondering “who gives a f**k about Christmas,” Melania Trump appears to be working hard to shed her long-standing “Scrooge” image.
This week, the First Lady, now 55, invited the media into the White House to showcase her lavish 2025 holiday décor — arguably the most extravagant display seen at the presidential residence to date. Not a single corner escaped the festive treatment.
Following this year’s theme, “Home Is Where the Heart Is,” Melania reportedly went all out. Her decorations include 75 wreaths, 51 Christmas trees, more than 213 meters of garland, over 2,000 strands of lights, 7,620 meters of ribbon, more than 2,800 gold stars, upward of 10,000 butterflies, and 54 kilograms of gingerbread.
The breathtaking presentation appears to have impressed many viewers, several of whom expressed their admiration on social media.
“INCREDIBLE: First Lady Melania Trump cut ZERO corners on the White House Christmas decorations,” one X user wrote. “She always delivers.”
Another added, “Melania didn’t just decorate — she created a full Christmas production. This isn’t just festive, it’s a statement. She basically turned the White House into the ultimate holiday flex.”

Still, the dazzling showcase has inadvertently resurfaced her controversial comment from years earlier.
In 2018 — during Donald Trump’s first term — Melania was secretly recorded discussing the backlash she received over her response to a controversial policy that separated families crossing the southern border.
Frustrated by the criticism, she defended her efforts.
