Instructions
1️⃣ Prepare the Strawberries
In a large bowl, combine the sliced strawberries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice.
Toss to coat and let sit for 30 minutes to release the juices.
2️⃣ Make the Shortcake Base
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fork until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
In a separate bowl, whisk together sugar, eggs, milk, and vanilla extract.
